I have been paying monthly fee's for games ever since 98 when Ultima Online was the first MMORPG to hit the shelves. I played that until WoW came out and recently went back to UO after I quit wow. Then I decided to try GW and I must say, no monthly fee is nice. Its nice to have a game that you can play that to me has just as good graphics as wow, just as good game play without paying every month for it. You can play when you want and not feel like its just another bill and because of this you have to play it to make it worth paying for.
I dont find the quality of customer service any less because there is no monthly fee. I dont think you can compare any game to WoW as well. WoW is WoW and you either like it or you dont. I was in love with it for 2 years myself but came to a point where grindfest was not what I wanted anymore. GW knows what they are doing with no monthly fee because there are as people have already posted, people that just cant afford 1 more bill to play a good game.
Also as someone said, even games with monthly fees, have their problems, server instability, updates getting postponed, content getting postponed, so its no different, other then you actually pay them every month for that.

I love this game and its business model is the one that made me buy it.
I won't play a monthly fee game.
GW can be left for a couple of weeks and you won't have to think "I've lost 2 weeks of my monthly fee, sigh!".
Leave this game business model as it is.

They already said they would change it. I made a post explaining the guide lines of the new model in the previous page (5). The main thing they don't like with now's GW (yes i like to say "now's") are the increasing training part, the new system should fix that.

(Another try to bring people away from the fee I did not want to discuss. This happens when people only read one line of a posting!)
I see a lot of micro payment coming.
Basically, every new inch of the map or content could be sold like the BMP.

Lol
Make a poll for this.
I personally would never pay for a game that I have to pay for weekly.

A large reason so many people play GW is due to the fact of no monthly fee. If they implamented a fee to play, I know this is one household that would quit playing. 2 palyers, 4 accounts. at (just as a number) 15.00 a month to play, thats 30.00 if we decided to just play the 2 accounts, 60.00 for all 4 accounts.
So lets say we stick to just the 2 accounts...30.00 a month x 12 = 360.00 a year plus the cost of expantions etc...
So not worth it. I can think of so many other things that 360.00 can go to a year.
Ok, so your thinking, why not just share an account? ok, 1 account 15.00 a month = 180.00. But where is the fun in not being able to play together (husband and wife, please not comments, we have heard them all already). And then there is the issue of who gets to play when...plus, its still more money then we are willing to fork out just to be able to play a game we had to purchase to begin with. Even if they lowered the initial price to around 20.00 for the install, still not worth it.
Yes for me, it all comes down to the all mighty dollar.
And as for the future comments about the money issues...some of you still live with mommy and daddy, they still fork over the cash to pay the bills, and feed you, and you havent a clue as to how it is for some folks. Wait untill you enter the real world before you start trashing my comments. And for those of you that are the adults reading this, Im sure you to can come up with a lot of other and much better ways to put 180.00 to use a year. After all, the no monthly fee is the main selling point to guild wars...or at least it use to be. And im hoping with GW2 it will be the same...even though im still not sure even with no monthly fee it will be worth the change to GW2.

I don't know if or how many times it's been said, but more money in does not mean more (quality) product out. In video games, you don't always get what you pay for; look at all the big-budget games that were flops because of an oversight here or a flaw there...
